I got this same error on a Gutsy system with totem-xine 2.20.0 with
xine-lib 1.1.7.

This happened when I tried to play an MP3, the visualization was enabled
but only showed a green screen with probably about 20-30 dots that
seemed to change colors, as if it was trying to run the visualization
stuff but couldn't get it. Anyway, when I went into preferences, the box
for 'Type of visualisation' (isn't that misspelled.. that's how the
program spells it?) was empty. I selected goom, and tried the others,
but nothing really happened. I uncheck the 'show visual effects' box and
click on close, and that is when it crashed on me.

I tried to re-produce the error to get a backtrace but couldn't
reproduce the crash.
