Hi, Some insights on this.
I'm trying to install Ubuntu on a Packard Bell EasyNote LJ65. This laptop as a GMA4500 M chip. After some research, I saw that from kernel with version above 2.6.38_rc8 (in other words, version of Ubuntu higher than 10.10), a regression did happen causing no backlight on the screen. It's not possible to use the Live CD to try or install since the screen remains black. Some workarounds are available but it'd be good so solve the root cause of this problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880096 Title: cant change laptop brightness To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/880096/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
