@ondrej I agree to some degree, as it would be reasonable to run xenial under the hood, not only because of the base OS but the rest of the web stack, too.
And as already stated, as PHP5.6/7 are supported from PHP to almost the same EOL time now, so it's not about "please support old unmaintained software for us" ;) As Trusty includes PHP 5.5, that would be more of a problem as to have 5.6 & 7 as options on a new platform with support until 2021. Installing trusty mid- to end-2016 feels the same as the precise/trusty thingy we had to endure the last 4 years. That's why I'm just throwing that idea into the room. I know what we have to do otherwise, but just wanted to have a shot at perhaps brighten up the situation :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1522422 Title: Update to php 7.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1522422/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
