I found this documentation: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution It says I should run $gnome-display-properties. Seems to be out of date. gnome-display-properties: command not found I guess it would be annoying to say it's a security vulnerability although if my screen isn't dim someone could more easily look through the window and see what I am typing on the screen. ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1545266 Title: screen brightness slider has no effect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1545266/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
