run 'blkid' and check if you have identical UUIDs if yes, you may be affected by the same problem as me; i've recently cloned my partititions (using dd), and I didn't realize (or even thought!) that the ubuntu will sometimes use the one, and in other times the other partition (one was on SSD, one on spinning drive)
I fixed the problem by: 1. booting into 'try ubuntu' 2. running gparted and generating new UUIDs 3. editing /etc/fstab (to set the new UUIDs) 4. and doing 'rsync' to copy over my new data (from the old destination) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1306237 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 final beta - files disappearing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1306237/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
