My computer hasn't frozen in over a week. I haven't rebooted, until this morning when an Ubuntu update wanted me to reboot. Now the freeze issue is back, seemingly worse than before. 3 reboots didn't change this.
I noted that in "System Monitor", CPU2 gets stuck at 100%.
