This failure also can be caused by misleading license agreement (DJL). In my case, while installing sun-java6-jre, I've been gracefully asked to accept the license agreement. I've pressed "next" without scrolling through the agreement (not really interested in, as I've a home use installation) - and received bunch of error messages, that drove me here.
To get things running, one needs to scroll down through license agreement and tick the box "I Agree". Hope that helps some guys that get here by the same cause :) -- package sun-java6-bin 6-00-2ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122325 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
