Between now and when I made this report, I did a reinstall of 15.10 with ethernet and multiple sudo upgrades/updates and replaced the old backport with what I wwas told was the latest ath-10k backport, backports-4.3-1. thread here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2306882
