I don't think it's a lightdm issue. I've been trying lxdm and the same issue happens there.
Might be a kernel issue: I tried mainline kernel 4.3.0 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D (v4.3-wily) and it works flawlessly.
