Could this failure be related to bug report #1509868 that I also filed? Please see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-vaapi- driver/+bug/1509868 for more details.
About an hour ago I tried to hibernate using the menu option inside the K main menu, which failed. Please notice that the "drm/i915" stuff is involved in a failure before I tried to hibernate. The hibernating process seemed to began about 14:32:52, some seconds later the computer hibernated apparently fine and I saw with my eyes it effectively powered off, but for only a few seconds, because it then powered on by itself.
