Jean-Pierre van Riel, given you have an outdated BIOS, you would want to update 
that first to see if this is resolved for your computer model. If you find an 
issue on the latest BIOS, then it will help immensely if you filed a new report 
via a terminal:
ubuntu-bug linux

Also, there is no wide impact regarding this. This issue (correlated to
a computer firmware bug, not a bug in Ubuntu/linux) affects one model of
computer, from one manufacturer (out of the hundreds of computer models,
and tens of manufacturers).
