Public bug reported: the latest linux kernels contain two firewire drivers.
ubuntu currently only has the old one enabled. the new one is smaller and faster and i guess it will probably eventually become the default. for now it seems reasonable to build the new driver as a module. in order to make the change zero-risk the new ohci module should probably be blacklisted so that it doesn't get auto-loaded. essentially: CONFIG_FIREWIRE=m CONFIG_FIREWIRE_OHCI=m CONFIG_FIREWIRE_SBP2=m ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- please build and blacklist new firewire drivers for gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
