I am also having this problem. I can add a component, but after adding one, the program does nothing for a little while (~10 sec) or until I hide and reopen the components window. This is also true when adding connectors. I have to open and close the components window for them to appear. No errors are reported on the command line, but are there any logs that I should upload/look through?
The computer that this was tested on is a Dell Latitude E6530 with Ubuntu 15.04 and the most recent proprietary graphics driver from Nvidia.
