oops, sorry I see my mistake: Cairo is of course not starting on bootup, but indeed during user session start : I put an entry in /etc/xdg/autostart. The workaround with a delayed start (by adding "X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=N" in /etc/xdg/autostart/cairo-dock.desktop) doesn't work. It starts immediately without any delay...
