Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-dev
Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setup Edgy Eft with two monitors connected to an NV43 card using the nvidia driver 2. Switch from Edgy Eft to Gutsy Gibbon by chaging the apt repositories and doing an apt-get dist-upgrade Expected: The same settings will appear after boot What happens: They don't appear. It seems that the nvidia drivers aren't loaded properly. The blacklist file has to be edited manually to de-blacklist the nvidia driver. However, for some reason when an lsmod is done, the nvidia driver still appears. It'd be nice to have the option of installing the nouveau driver if nvidia is going to be blacklisted, and to not have to use Twinview for Dual Monitor support. This appears to be more of an installation script issue than an issue with the nvidia driver, but I'm not sure where else to put this bug. ** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [gutsy] nvidia driver not loaded by default after upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144699 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
