I am also seeing this problem with network-manager 0.6.5-0ubuntu13 on
gutsy.

When at the office, I have both wired LAN (tg3 driver) and wifi
(ipw3945) both with DHCP. The wifi signal is encrypted with WPA and NM
has the passphrase in the keychain.

Behaviour I am seeing:
 - Looking at ifconfig output, I can see NetworkManager connects eth0 (wired
LAN) first, and a few seconds later eth1 is also connected
 - nm-applet icon shows the wifi strength
 - nm-applet does not list "wired network"
 - if I disable the wifi, nm-applet claims "no network" even though ifconfig
can see eth0 working correctly, and the network works ok

With an earlier gutsy,
 - it would only attempt to connect to the wifi signal if I unplugged the wired
LAN.
 - if I disabled wifi, it would say "wired network"
