I always run the « generic » kernel the « i386 » is not install. But it's a fresh install of ubuntu. Here it's a core2 too, but on a Dell inspiron 1520 It's strange that with the same card yours work and not mine :o(
Do you have something like this : options snd-hda-intel model=3stack in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base ? Must I post this info on lauchpad or only when I find the solution ?
