Not sure if this is of any help at all, but here is the console output from the crash when I start FF from the command line.
$ firefox The program 'gecko' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 119 error_code 8 request_code 144 minor_code 3) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) If somebody were to enlighten me about how to use the debugger, I'd be willing to run firefox through gdb. -- [gutsy] Firefox crashes reliably on a number of sites https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
