I am observing exactly the same failure on a HP 8530w. Kernel panic messages are the same as those on on the screen shots referred to in the original report.
These failures are intermittent. With 3.13.0-62 they inhibit the boot about 80% of the time. With 3.13.0-61 they also occurred, but less frequently.
