same behaviour here too 10.04LTS 2.6.32-74-generic #142-Ubuntu SMP Tue Apr 28 10:03:02 UTC 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux I'm pretty sure VT's worked but i have some time to use them i did logged in blindly(without see the screen because its black )
