I checked the current sources in both, the current stable branch (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu- branches/ubuntu/trusty/php5/trusty/view/head:/Zend/zend_compile.c#L4126) and the development branch (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~noskcaj/ubuntu/trusty/php5/merge/view/head:/Zend/zend_compile.c#L4116) .
