Public bug reported:

I am using a Gigabyte U24T laptop with a touchpad. My touchpad works on
some boots but on others it goes missing without a trace. I have been
told to look for it with 'xinput --list' and 'cat
/proc/bus/input/devices' but neither of these return any touchpad
related items. I have attached a link the output of the previously
mentioned commands in their respective order.

I can't give any information on the touchpad as it is currently in a
non-working state, however, this may or may not change after a reboot. I
believe it is an ElanTech touchpad.

Not sure what else I can do with this problem, it really annoying to
randomly loose mouse functionality sometimes. I don't think it is a
problem with the device itself as there have never been any problems in
my Windows 8 install. They are boot using different boot methods, Linux
is using GRUB through BIOS and Windows in using UEFI.

Hope this helps.
