I'm not convinced that our patches are merged upstream (including one that you didn't mention), but I'm willing to take a sync-and-see approach. If it fails to build on some of the arches, I'll restore any necessary patches. I normally wouldn't do this, but we are quite far behind, and it appears to be building happily in Debian.
