The original report describes what happens if you simply highlight an
entry in the keyboard shortcuts list and press backspace.  For instance,
if the focus is on the "Volume down" row, pressing backspace will jump
you to "Sound" parent node.

To remove the shortcut, you must actually click the cell of the
"shortcut" column and hit backspace as it says "New accelerator...".
