The easiest thing you can do is to grab kernel 4.2 (rc5 or later) which includes this commit: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/ea7d521569a70418aa9f6309a1d1916709818b62 That avoids the behavior of the things changed by this _REV check. You'll probably need to cold boot a few times and might need to mess with mixers to get audio working after this.
