I have this same error in Feisty 7.04 server with the 2.6.20-16-server
kernel.

you can reproduce the error by typing mii-tool.

I don't mind the error messages in so much as the card physically
doesn't work now.

mii-tool reports no link and setting an IP address on the card reports
