Public bug reported: I'm on Dell XPS 13 2015 edition, since about two weeks, my second monitor connected via Mini Display Port doesn't work well ; ie the screen led report it as "on", the "Settings -> Display" tools detect it successfully, screen is extended, BUT screen stay black.
Sometimes, while I'm working (with the black screen on the second monitor), the second monitor woke up. I can use it, but after automatic "screen turn off" (while I'm away), the second screen doesn't woke up. If I disconnect-reconnect, the mini display port, nothing happens, and Xorg.0.log doesn't detect something (this is why I've opened the bug on "linux-image-generic" and not on "Xorg"). I would be happy to find my second display working again, and help to fix the problem. Please, let me know how I can help, report, test, etc... $ cat /proc/version_signature Ubuntu 3.19.0-26.27-generic 3.19.8-ckt4 $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 15.04 Release: 15.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: linux-image-3.19.0-26-generic 3.19.0-26.27 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-26.27-generic 3.19.8-ckt4 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-26-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.2 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: kumy 1513 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: kumy 1513 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Mon Aug 3 15:20:29 2015 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=8a16d494-b05c-4d52-a204-b648a935d547 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-05-07 (88 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet" - Release amd64 (20150422) MachineType: Dell Inc.
