I have been able to "fix" it by adding the called for icon. The correct fix could be for the Numix maintainers to add this icon. Especially if there is supposed to be a standard followed as to icon naming, so that the theme works properly with MATE flavors proper. On the other hand, the python script stops when it doesn't find that icon, so the case could be made for handling that gracefully.
