Hello,

You are correct, the networked kernel dumping mechanism was introduced
in Utopic Unicorn (14.10).  Being a major functionality upgrade, it
cannot be backported to the stable release as it would go against SRU
rules.

What I can offer is to request for a backport of the version in Vivid
into the -backports archive but it will not be possible to have the
functionality in the main archive.
