I can reproduce this crash. I've an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and I'm using the ati driver (xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.7.193-1ubuntu1) on amd64. It only happens when compiz is running. If I set the video output to Xv using gstreamer-properties and start the test video output (any other video should do it also) and rotate the cube, X crashes. When doing the same but with non-Xv video output set in gstreamer-properties it doesn't crash.
