And I tries several fixes.
Something helped me (it seems)...
Symptoms:

Probably this resoled the issue:
# gksu gedit /etc/pm/config.d/unload_modules
SUSPEND_MODULES="$SUSPEND_MODULES iwlwifi"
{by http://www.webupd8.org/2013/01/fix-wireless-or-wired-network-
not.html ...}
