Public bug reported:

Whenever I install a new package, the custom menu entry ~/.menu/eclipse
is ignored, it does not show up in the Openbox root-menu you get when
right-clicking on the desktop. update-menus successfully creates the
menu file ~/.menu/openbox/debian-menu.xml with the eclipse entry
included. But the problem seems to be that the same entry is not
included in /var/lib/openbox/debian-menu.xml. The problem can be fixed
by running

# update-menus --menufilesdir ~/.menu

which adds the eclipse menu entry to /var/lib/openbox/debian-menu.xml
and makes it visible in the Openbox root-menu.
