Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't mount the BQ Aquaris 4.5 once it is connected with usb cable. Everything works fine on Ubuntu 14.10 and 15.04.
Workaround (found here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2270325) Installing an updated version of libmtp from this repo https://launchpad.net/~phablet-team/+archive/ubuntu/tools: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:phablet-team/tools sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade libmtp-common, libmtp-runtime and libmtp9 will be updated. Once connected via usb, the smart phone will be browsable from the file manager and the icon will appear on the launcher.
