Konstantin, I understand that it's frustrating to have a bug report neglected for years. But if another open-source OS is quicker on average at resolving bug reports it receives, it's most likely because it receives an order of magnitude fewer bug reports.
The purpose of a bug tracker is to help developers make best use of their time. In general, it's better to spend time on fixing bugs that are known to exist in a current version, than on trying to reproduce bugs reported in an old version. A massive amount has changed in Update Manager since Ubuntu 10.04 (even its name), so it's quite likely that this bug no longer exists. If anyone can reproduce the bug in a current version (14.04 or 15.04), please reopen the report. ** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549217 Title: security updates not installed daily as configured To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/549217/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
