Hi,

This is almost certainly [Debian#745877], which was fixed in 2.5.24.

It seem to have been fixed in the following upstream commits[1]:

 * b402a1e48d81fb60ecb8cb517f3f3f356eadc2e0
 * de9b838c92c613a70f69cd4e16a86752c47b9c9e
   (Despite being "just" a "perl critic warning" it avoids using $&,
    which has been known to cause performance issues).
