Yes, I realize this bug has many subscribers. As of the recent kernel update (3.13.0-53), the dpkg-reconfigure operations, listed at the beginning of the bug description, no longer fixed it temporarily.
Thank you to Luc Bruninx yesterday (comment above) for an alternative fix, however, the command in the bug comment had a syntax error in the apt-get options. Here it is without the error: $ sudo apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-331 nvidia-331-uvm I also edited the bug description to add this command if the dpkg- reconfigure operations did not work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268257 Title: nvidia-331-updates 331.38-0ubuntu3: nvidia-331-updates kernel module failed to build, with only error: "objdump: '... .tmp_nv.o': No such file" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/1268257/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
