Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kile

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start kile 1.9.3-1ubuntu1 in feisty
2. Open new document
3. Type any non-ASCII character, like ä ö ü
4. Kile displays À ö Ì

Seems like kile interprets the utf8 characters from the keyboard as
iso8859-15 characters. I switched to UTF8 everywhere. If I open a
document with existing umlaut characters, they get displayed correctly.

Maybe kile or the kde-io library is compiled without UTF8 support?

** Affects: kile (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
