However, I have other computer with the same version of Ubuntu and another wifi adapter and it works flawlessly. I also bought another USB WIFI adapter for the computer because of the problems and it works fine too. Except for the speed and signal strength, which are awfull on the alternative. That is why I am so keen of getting RTL8192CU adapter working. I have two USB WIFI adapters with RTL8192CU adapter and both behave identically showing identical problems.
