In 14.04 this problem still persists exactly as described here. I have tested it on multiple machines (with Ubuntu and also with Mint 17.1). Changing the parallel mode (ECP/EPP etc.) does not make a difference.
For those looking for a quick, rough solution: enabling force_nibble in /etc/sane.d/canon_pp.conf makes it possible to scan grayscale at 75 and 300 dpi. Colour scans and grayscale at 150 dpi still fail with the same symptoms: the scanner halts after some brief initial motion. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173393 Title: canoscan FB330P starts scan, then stalls To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xsane/+bug/173393/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
