The nvidia-visual-profiler and nvidia-nsight packages both depend on
default-jre | java6-runtime.
The nvidia-cuda-toolkit package recommends nvidia-visual-profiler.
You can install nvidia-cuda-toolkit without installing the recommended
packages (and thus without installing java) by doing the following:
$ sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends nvidia-cuda-toolkit
> Java is installed and working (manually, for various reasons).
> The dependency manager should check first to see if the java
executable is available. If so, relax the dependency on Java.
Since you have installed java manually, without the package manager, it
has no way of knowing it shouldn't install java from the archive.
