I recommend that you read about the command dbus-launch [1] and its
purpose.

Other than that, I am pretty sure that messing around with sudo is not the 
right approach and we should try to figure out why the environment is not 
properly initialized (systemd-logind?).
Please revert your changes, start a new session and attach the log file 
~/.cache/upstart/startxfce4.log to this report.
