I upgraded my other laptop (6.5 years older, i386 rather than amd64) to 15.04, and I get the same issue there. Upstream kernel v4.1-rc1-vivid works, 3.19.0-15 has the bug. Let me know if you'd like another bug report on the older hardware, or if there's anything else I should do.
