Public bug reported:

It seems jabref is unable to perform online search after the last update. When 
clicking on fetch after filling in the online search text, nothing happens. To 
me it feels there's some policy that stops it from getting online to execute 
the search. 
This what's in the program output in the help/show error console/ log:

I am a doctor and using jabref is essential to my work for practicing evidence 
based medicine. This is going to handicap my work till the bug is fixed.
