It's not a crash... Gaim just needs some "randomness" from the system pool to generate the key. Mashing the keyboard and moving the mouse around helps. (IIRC, gpg tells you to do this when creating a key) It's a shame that this isn't done in a separate threads, so GUI updates take place.
