Hi Matt, As far as I remember, the last line in 'Device' section of you xorg.conf, "Opiton "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True" " is meant for enabling 3D desktop, beryl. I see that you are not using restricted nvidia driver, you are using default 'nv' driver that does not support 3D desktop (AFAIK), so you may like to remove that line. Please backup your current xorg.conf before you try this.
