Hi There too, Yes, I managed as well by manually editing. In fact I took a working eduroam settings-file from my laptop, removed the mac-address, and moved it to the ubuntu phone. Indeed chmod +600 was necessary. Also, strangely, I had to change eap to ttls and phase2-auth to pap. Now it works.
