Tomcat is the reference implementation of the Servlet framework and if your web application requires additional security permissions, then please read the documentation and add the relevant permissions to the file /etc/tomcat5.5/policy.d/50user.policy for that application. The security policy of Tomcat is mission critical in many cases.
