Public bug reported:

Context:
Sofware updater is downloading a Google Chrome update.

Version:
update-manager 1:0.196.12

Bug #1:
At some point, the currently downloaded size exceeds the total download size.
On screenshot updater_1106.png, you can see 67.1MB out of 48.5MB.

Bug #2:
10 minutes later, the currently downloaded size still exceeds the total
download size but is less than 10 minutes ago (60.8MB at 11:16AM when it at
67.1MB at 11:06AM, see screenshot updater_1116.png)

Bug #3:
Then the currently downloaded size starts to
decrease/increase/decrease/increase/etc. (61.6MB/61.5MB/61.6MB/61.5MB/etc.)

I don't know what happened exactly. It's now 11:35AM and it's still
downloading (currently 63.4MB out of 48.5MB). I submitted an ubuntu-bug
report as well.

If it can help, I'm in China and the internet connection is pretty
unstable here. Maybe lots of packets were corrupted and had to be
downloaded again, but were still considered to be part of the total
downloaded size.

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
