OK, got it. The default display driver is not adapt to the video card, despite it already exist under the directory /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/. So the configure file at /etc/X11/xorg.conf should be manually modify to the right driver name. Then refresh rate is OK, reboot is OK.
