I posted on bug#15424 and Schily wrote he was moving the bug to dvd+rw so here I am. I upgraded my drive from a Matshita DVD-R to a DVD+/-RW DL. I was burning DVDs (only DVD-R) fine in K3b but not GnomeBaker. I cannot burn now with the "input/output" and "device busy" errors. I have read these posts and others and decided to try Graveman-no luck. I tried command line:
sudo growisofs -Z /dev/hdc -R -J /home/brianokeefe and got: mkisofs: Joliet tree sort failed. The -joliet-long switch may help you. :-( write failed: Input/output error" If I add the switch I get the same error. Here's an example of what's choking mkisofs, apparently: mkisofs: Error: /home/brianokeefe/.nautilus/metafiles/file:%2F%2F%2Fhome%2Fbrianokeefe %2Fgtk-gnutella-downloads%2Fcomplete%2FMusic.xml and /home/brianokeefe/.nautilus/metafiles/file:%2F%2F%2Fhome%2Fbrianokeefe %2Fgtk-gnutella-downloads%2Fcomplete.xml have the same Joliet name Could this be the source of the K3b error and GnomeBaker and Graveman failing too? -- Cannot write DVD's with K3B or Nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136678 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
